REACH information about chromium trioxide
Expected in February 2013 chromic acid will be included in Annex XIV of the REACH Regulation. A permit for continued use after May 2016 will be mandatory.
A consortium consisting of the producers / importers of chromium trioxide and other stakeholders, has begun to take the necessary steps to obtain approval for future use.
We will join the consortium in the interests of our clients to participate actively in the documentation.
The following applications are included in the dossier:
1. Production of preparations
2. Technical chrome plating
3. Decorative chrome plating
4. Other surface treatments with Cr-VI in the final product (Article)
5. ditto without hexavalent chromium in the final product
6. Catalysts
7. Use in the laboratory
If ECHA issued the permit in its entirety these applications are covered . A separate application for a permit by the down stream user is not required unless the chromic acid is not bought from other sources. Must be checked in this case, if the seller has the necessary approval.

PROSEAL NP 300 - Passivation for Zinc Deposits
PROSEAL NP 300 is a liquid concentrate which produces a blue to yellow film on zinc layers that have been plated in acid or alkaline electrolytes.
Our passivation is suitable for rack and barrel installations.
CHARACTERISTICS:
(1) PROSEAL NP 300 does not contain any hexavalent chromium chemicals or chelating agents. Therefore, spent solutions can easily be waste treated.
(2) Free of fluorid.
(3) Due to a high working pH-level.low coating losses.
(4) Remarkable corrosion protection in combination with our PROSEAL Additive NP.
(5) Contains an iron inhibitor, therefore extremely high life time of the bath.

SURFASEAL WL 150 - Sealing for Chromated Parts
Our product is a liquid, yellowish concentrate which provides a clear organic protection coating, especially for zinc plated parts.
CHARACTERISTICS:
(1 Water-soluble.
(2 Non-flammable; it contains no organic solvents.
(3) Yellow chromated parts do not experience discoloring when exposed to UV or daylight.
(4) SURFASEAL WL 150 increases the corrosion resistance remarkably.
